I have an ATI Radeon HD 3850 PCI-E card w512MB DDR3 and AERO runs fine for me. Your AERO should run better and Im baffled why it is not working on your configuration. Radeon 38 series cards are only capable of using DirectX 10. I lost Aero a few times and needed to reboot to get Aero Features working again. It was not stable and continued to freeze momentarily while trying to move forward and backward watching movies.
I dont want to uninstall the windows7 because I think its going good enough.
